I used to book a “lifting” facial before every big event — a wedding, a work function, a milestone birthday. I'd walk out glowing, skin looking firmer and more awake. Then, somewhere around the two-week mark, that fresh look would quietly fade, and the next event would roll around, and I'd book again. It took me an embarrassingly long time to add up what that little habit was actually costing me.
If you've ever sat in a salon chair for a microcurrent or “non-surgical lift” facial, you know the routine. In Australia, a single session can cost hundreds of dollars, and clinics often recommend a course of visits followed by regular maintenance. The results may look lovely. What five minutes actually looks like
My routine now is almost boringly simple. A thin layer of conductive gel, then a few slow passes along the jawline and up over the cheekbones on the microcurrent setting, followed by a short cool-compress pass under the eyes where I tend to look most tired.
It won't produce a surgical result, and anyone promising that is overstating what an at-home beauty device can do. But if you've been paying for repeat facials simply to maintain a fresh, firmer-looking appearance, a short routine at home may be a more convenient way to support the look you already like.
